On May 27, 2010, Mr. J's Grandma passed away at the age of 83. She was the beloved matriarch of the family and the world will never be the same without her. We all miss her so much already, but I am glad she is no longer in pain. She spent the last year going in and out of the hospital for various health issues. Through it all, she fought hard and tried her best to keep her spirits up.
When Mr. J and I last saw her, she was happy and smiling and joking around in her own living room. This was back in April, when we were in the area for my 10 year high school reunion. I am not that religious, but I thank God that we were able to spend that time with her. It is my last memory of Grandma, and I will cherish it forever.
Grandma, I want you to know that I love you as my Grandma and not just Mr. J's relative. Thank you for raising your wonderful daughter, who grew up and raised my husband. I hope to make you proud of us when we eventually have our own kids. You taught everyone to enjoy life, to love well, and to remember to laugh and cherish every moment. Thank you.
Grandma, we love you!
